My 1st ever blog, and why? Quite simply I want to build a successful business online and I want to help others do the same.

Let me explain my short story. about 15  months ago after the company I worked for for ten years went bankrupt,  I realized that if you want to be successful you are going to have to work for it.  You  can TRY to achieve success by working for someone else, but you are at the mercy of their business decisions for one thing and the other is you only see a fraction of the revenue you generate for the company if it is owned by someone else.  My name is Steve Steiner and I am 56 years old and I’ve spent far too many years waiting for the cash to find me, guess what … Yep, it ain’t happened………yet!

I have been struggling at Internet Marketing for about a year.  I bought some training classes, but made the typical “newbie” mistake of looking at every offer that came along.  I have sure helped others build their “list”, but that is not the list building I had in mind!  I want to build my OWN list, and help others to build THEIR lists, not just be added to someone else’s list.

I have bought countless courses and products, most are simply lingering on my hard drive gathering dust if you will.  There are a few lessons I have learned the hard way, and I have written a free report to outline some of the lessons I have learned.

I joined Turbo Traffic System by Dean Holland and Adam Spiel I believe back in May.  This course is the reason I have created this blog (finally, I have been wanting to create one, and part of the course was to build a blog).  I am excited about the course, and have decided that I will stick this one out from start to finish with out trying to short cut anything.  I have bought numerous systems and programs that claim to be the “magic bullet”.  To date, my online earnings are a little under $100.00.  That is after struggling for almost a year and a half.  The REALLY bad thing is the earnings are from an affiliate who I don’t remember joining!  I have had 3 checks show up in the mail so I guess I am fortunate that the affiliate marketer is an honest guy!

I am still going through the recorded lessons from the Starting With Marketing Academy which is a 6 week course and was recommended as a starting point.  So far even though I have been distracted by other “magic bullets” even though I KNOW that I need to just focus on ONE program/training course at a time.  I thought I had learned that, but some of the emails I get are just impossible not to check out!  That results in a waste of time reading the emails, and more wasted time if I check out what they are pitching.  I HAVE recently picked up some good free reports but fell for a few of the One Time Offers that just seemed too good to pass up.  That is just crazy, since all I do is store them and then go back to the Starting With Marketing Academy.  At least I am trying to stay focused!

I recommend you check out the Turbo Traffic System there is a VERY good free report that reveals some traffic secrets.  You can also listen to an Interview with Lee McIntyre free here.

Dean’s first stated goal was to make $1.00 online.  I have a slightly higher goal in mind, my immediate goal is to make my FIRST sale online.

I have discovered that the process of becoming a successful Internet Marketer is a journey, filled with days of LONG hours regardless of some of the hype the “magic bullet” programs say.  While it may be possible to only work 2 – 4 hours a day once you have several successful campaigns up and running on autopilot, it will take a LOT of work to get there.  As my business grows, then I can look at acquiring some tools to help automate some of the processes, but there will always be the research for new products and niches.  I am not looking for the “easy riches”, I just want to be able to earn a decent income while expending the effort required.

I welcome all feedback to this post, both positive and negative.

Hey all,

I just had what some would call an “aha” moment.  How many times have you bought a program or course, skipped right to where you thought the important part was and jumped right in only to be disappointed with the outcome?  Am I the only idiot who has done this?  This week I bought another course, yeah yet another one after I said I wouldn’t be buying anymore.

This time I told myself it would be different.  I was going to start at the very beginning and not shortcut a single thing.  I learned some things today from that course, probably the biggest thing was the need for action.

The coach used an analogy of  learning to ride a bicycle.  You could read about learning to ride but you would NEVER get to it if you didn’t just put down the book.

Hey,

I was surfing last week and I came across the term MRR.  Now I have been struggling with Internet Marketing for a while but I am not a “newbie”. While I thought I knew what MRR meant, I wanted to be sure so I looked for the definition and came across a dictionary of Internet Marketing terms.

The IM DictionaryClick Here For Your Free No Strings Copy

I liked it so much I bought the Master Resale Rights (MRR) to it.  Since this blog is all about providing tips for Internet Marketers, I decided to give it to anyone who reads this post with NO strings attached!  FREE! No Opt In, no up sell, nothing, nada, zip!  Of course I would love to have you on my list so that you don’t miss out on more “goodies” from me.

You can sign up for my list with the form on this page, but it’s not required to to get your copy of the Internet Marketing Dictionary.  Not only will you get the dictionary, but you get Master Resale Rights as well as reseller files.  Under the terms of this particular MRR license, you can sell it and keep all the profit, give it away, include it in another offer as a bonus, if you have a member site, you can use it there as content as well.  Heck, you can even sell it on auction sites!

This is one of the few no strings offers that I know of.  It flies in the face of all the “guru” advice I have seen; they all say “use a give away item to get them on your list then have an up-sell offer on your thank you page.

I may be an idiot for giving this away without getting your information for my list, but I would prefer to have people on my list who want to hear from me in the future, not just someone who joins just to get one “freebie”.  I am trying to get my name established as an honest reliable source of information who is not another hype marketer.

In the interest of being upfront with everyone, there ARE some affiliate links in the dictionary so if you click on them and buy something, I will get a commission.  For those of you who are brand new to Internet Marketing, that is known as Affiliate Marketing.  If you do decide to buy something from any affiliate link anywhere, it does NOT affect the price you pay at all.  The commission is paid by the owner of the product out of their profits.

Download your copy now! This will be a valuable tool for your personal use and is a product you can add to those you promote.  All I ask in return is that you tell your friends about this blog if you find it useful and post your comments on what you think of the dictionary and your results if you have decided to sell it.

Have fun!

At last I have my first article ready for release.  Musings of a Newbie Internet Marketer is available now.  This is a FREE report, no One Time Offers, no up-sells, just the article.  Of course, since I am building my list, there is an opt in page.  You can get your copy here:

http://tinyurl.com/26rnt85

Please take a few minutes to get your copy, read it and give me your feedback.  I would also like to know what other areas of Internet Marketing are giving you problems.  I am NOT a guru by any means, but I may know something that can help.

Enjoy!

Excuse me for the rant, but I just answered an email from (no I am not going to mention any names), and since this is the third or fourth type I have looked at recently, I decided it is finally time to vent a little bit.  You may have seen this tactic also.  You get an email telling you about some cool product that says if you act quickly, we will give it to you for free.  You click the link,  and are taken to a sales letter.  It talks about the product and says it is $xx.xx but you can get it here free if you opt in to a list.  Once you opt in, you are taken to another sales letter that offers the product FOR A PRICE!  The one I am ranting about doesn’t even seem to offer the product mentioned in the first email.  I don’t know about you, but personally I would NOT take advantage of the offer, regardless of how good it seemed.  That just seems to be mis-leading and could get the originator in trouble with the FTC.  Just my humble opinion.

Have fun!
